Fika Frenzy

Fika Frenzy is a top-down, fast-paced local multiplayer game for up to four players, where you compete in an arena using upgrades to gain the best chance of winning.

This project was a collaboration between The Game Assembly and Apacademy.
Our group from Apacademy consisted of four members, each with defined roles during production:

Alexander Fuentes: Audio Lead, Sound Designer, Implementer, and Mix Engineer

Valdemar Helander: Sound Designer and Composer
Gustav Ängeskog: Composer

Niclas Hedlund: Sound Designer

As the Audio Lead, I was responsible for guiding both the creative and technical direction of the audio. I contributed across nearly all areas of the audio pipeline, including implementation, team coordination, voice-over, sound design, mixing, and overall project organization.

      Leadership & Collaboration

        • Directed the overall audio vision of the project, including the style of the music and sound design

      •
        • Assigned roles, managed the team schedule, and maintained backups and file organization

      •
        • Acted as the main point of contact between our audio team and the developers at The Game Assembly

      •
        • Collaborated closely with the audio programmer to ensure seamless integration between FMOD and the game engine

      •
        • Gave ongoing feedback on all submitted audio content, including music and sound design

      Implementation

        • Implemented all audio using FMOD 2.02.27, including events, parameters, and routing

      •
        • Organized the FMOD project to support fast iteration and maintain a clean, efficient structure

      •
        • Handled VO, music integration and transitions

      •
        • Balanced all music and sound design elements to create a cohesive in-game mix

      •
        • Built a priority-based mixing system to manage dynamic balance and frequency ducking during gameplay

      Voice Over & Music Mixing

        • Participated in the voice-over process, working collaboratively on recording sessions

      •
        • Mixed all voice-over assets, including Player VO and announcer lines

      •
        • Mixed all music tracks:

          • One Main Menu track

          • Three In-game tracks, each with multiple instrument variations to ensure non-repetitive playback
